Put the puzzle

Ιανουαρίου 9, 2008 22:49 by alexanderchalkidis

It’s a bookcase full of what’s left.

If the owner could speak she’d probably laugh.

“I was so young then!”

Full of ideas

Simple and real ; then

Like a walk by the sea with the music up loud.

Times when there’s something, one thing

Can’t put into words, but real

Like a vague smile on your face just cause the sun hit your eyes.

No one asked me to put this puzzle,

Put this puzzle,

Do this puzzle right.

Yet my mind just wonders as I put this puzzle,

Put this puzzle,

Play the pieces in my head.

.

And the photographs, you think they’re the worst

The clothes we wore then!

We didn’t know

Pictures and posters – meant so much ; then

The colours don’t fade, only the eyes.

It’s all been moved a thousand imes

Tidied and washed, borrowed and broken

Repaired, reused, resurfaced but mostly

Left alone

.

If you knew the words I might write

You would have given them away

If you knew the person I’m making up

From what you don’t believe is you anymore.

.

No one asked me to put this puzzle,

 Put this puzzle,

    Do this puzzle right.

Yet my mind just wonders as I put this puzzle,

 Put this puzzle,

Play the pieces in my head.

.

.

It’s just a picture, a beautifully boring picture.
